Explore markets set along medieval lanes, where fresh foie gras is set out on stalls next to heaps of plump local strawberries. You will receive a warm welcome to match the weather wherever you stop.
Nature and history lovers alike will revel in this region. Sunny and simply burgeoning with lush plants such as acacias, alders and poplars, the perfect spots for unplanned picnics are provided by the river’s edge, and medieval castles and Roman ruins are dotted along the landscape.
Passing through a patchwork of pastoral scenery, gentle plains are streaked with vineyards and dotted with wooded valleys. Cruising calm rivers that are filled with fish, this is a peaceful cruise, perfect for a refreshing time on the water.

From both our bases, you’ll find the peace, tranquillity and charm of the Canal and the fortified villages on the River Baise. For the experienced crew, there is the dramatic scenery of the River Lot to be explored.

Le Mas d'Agenais - France

A Gourmet Experience

This old Roman town has played a large part in the historical change of France. Le Mas d’Agenais was lost and gained several times during the crusades and was under possession of the English during the 100 year war. It then became French again and the walls were rebuilt. There were a few more changes that took p[lace during the Revolution, and then began the calm and quiet that the area enjoys today.

The legacy of the troubled past of this town has embodied itself in its architecture with ramparts, fortified wall and Roman doors all being part of the landscape. A marvellous Roman church still stands in the town and now home to a famous Rembrandt.

Whilst in the town make sure you indulge in some of the local produce, foie gras being particularly good.

Condom - France

A Gourmet Experience

Situated on the Baise river, Condom is surrounded by some lovely green countryside. Historically used to transport flour and Armagnac to the rest of France, the river was lengthened to Nerac and then St Jean de Poutje.

Many of the towns that you can cruise to from Condom still have medieval charms. Vianne for example has impressive fortified walls and Lavardac is well known for its’ mill.

Condom itself is a typical Gascogne town with imposing old buildings and hotels lining the streets. This is the main town of an area rich with rural churches and manor houses.

The principal attractions are the Saint-Pierre Cathedral, the Armagnac Museum and a great number museums and buildings in the town.
